Mirai is a music festival that features Vocaloids - Japanese synthetic singing voice software - and Vocaloid song producers as the main performances. Vocaloids can be tuned in various different ways, and each producer has their own unique way of making these synthetic voices sound like characters. Since some of these producers often wish to remain anonymous and Vocaloids are digital characters, the client wanted a way to promote the festival in a unique and eye-catching way.
To represent these fictional characters and anonymous producers, illustrations of various symbols or items that certain producers or characters use in more famous songs was used to represent the artists that were attending the festival. The use of the vibrant blues and pinks alongside the triangular shapes represent the feeling of the digital world bleeding into our real world.
